The 2007 Upstream Walk raised over $125,000!
For the third year running the weather held up its end of the bargain and gave us ideal walking conditions. Although slightly chilly for our faithful volunteers, the cool weather and lack of rain was most welcome by our walkers.
Despite some practical jokers who thought it would be funny to mess with the arrows marking the course (I’m fairly certain no one was laughing) the day went off without a hitch. With a warm gym, plenty of massage volunteers and delicious food prepared by MMM, the finish line was well worth the wait.
This years race hero, Dr William Tan, powered through the course in a time 4 hours and 28 minutes. So the first leg of his world record attempt has been completed. We wish him all the best in the rest of his journey.
Congratulations to all our walkers who completed the 30km or 50km! Its an amazing effort and you should be very proud! A big thankyou to all our tireless volunteers who make the event run so smoothly and looked after all our walkers so well!

Thanks to our generous walkers and supporters the 2007 Upstream Walk raised just over $125,000 to be distributed between Leprosy Mission, Beyondblue & Samaritan’s Purse. This is a terrific achievement and will help improve many peoples lives. Thanks to everyone who donated!!
