When is the latest possible registration date?
What is the entry fee?
There is no entry/administration fee. To participate in the event, each participant must commit to raise a minimum of $200 in donations, $50 of which will need to be donated at the time of registration. The $200 minimum donation is due by the 3rd November 2017. The $200 minimum is per participant not per team. Remember, all donations over $2 are tax-deductible and 100% of donations go directly to the beneficiaries. (including your $50 during registration!)
How long will it take me to complete the 50km?
It depends on your fitness , intended speed and how long you rest at checkpoints. Some good runners take just under 4 hrs, but it may take 5-6 hrs depending on your speed. If you are walking on average it could take anywhere between 7-11 hours.
Can I run during the event?
The event is not a race, but many participants do run (or combine running and walking).
Must I have a support team?
It is strongly recommended that participants have a support crew. It is impractical to carry all necessary supplies (food, drink & clothes) but a support crew is not essential.
Will my mobile phone work?
Since the walk is through metropolitan Melbourne, mobile phone reception should be available the whole 50km. We recommend carrying a phone for emergencies or so you can contact your support crew or us if you need to.
