A Fantastic day for our 10th Anniversary
Perfect conditions greeted us all in the morning for the 10th Upstream Challenge on Saturday! We were blessed with ideal conditions which continued throughout most of the day. There was a bit of rain and thunder at the end, but nothing to complain too much about
Well done to all the participants who completed the 20km or 50km walks and fantastic effort by all those who pushed themselves but didn’t quite make the distance. 740 participants started either the 50km or 20km event with the aim to raise funds for the beneficiaries.
Another big thank you this year to our volunteers who make our event so special and our sponsors who make it all possible.
Results can now be found at the website here.
First Male across the line in the 50km was Daragh Oloughlin in 3:39, with Emily Ritchie the first female crossing in 4:57.
In the 20km event we had Ali Wastie finish in 1:51 in the Female category and in the male category Brett Dornbruch crossed in 1:44.
What an outstanding fundraising job so far by you all. Many people will benefit from your hard work in participating in the Upstream Challenge and your incredible fundraising. We still have some way to go to reach our target of $330,000, and it is going to take people raising more than the $200 minimum you committed to on entering. So use your new found kudos at work and at home to ask for some more support!
The total raised from the 2014 Upstream Challenge currently sits at $288,171.20.
Some more incentive prizes!
What an amazing effort so far. This year we have been given some brilliant prizes to reward you for your fundraising efforts. The best thing is, the more you raise, the more prizes you go in the draw to win!
